Village of Clinton elections occur each year, on the third Tuesday in March * from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Board Room of Lumbard Memorial Hall at 100 North Park Row in Clinton. Depending on the year, openings on the Village Board include Trustee/s and/or Mayoral positions. Both positions are for two-year terms.
* NOTE: In any year in which the third Tuesday of March falls on the seventeenth day of March, the Village of Clinton Board of Trustees will adopt a resolution at least sixty days before the Village election stating that the election will be held on the eighteenth day of March. For all Village elections scheduled to be held on Tuesday, March 17th of any year, the Village Board of Trustees must pass a resolution designating Wednesday, March 18th of that year as village election day.

If you want to run for any positions, Independent Nominating Petitions must be obtained either in the Village Clerk’s Office in Lumbard Memorial Hall or online at the New York State Board of Elections site here: https://www.elections.ny.gov/NYSBOE/download/law/IndependentNominatingPetition.pdf. These petitions require a minimum of 50 signatures and they must be submitted to the Oneida County Board of Elections, Union Station, 321 Main Street, 3rd Floor, Utica, New York 13501, by the second Tuesday of February of each year. Please note, according to New York State Election Law § 5-108 (8) (a). An independent nominating petition for an office to be filled at the time of a general or special village election shall be filed notearlier than 42 days nor later than 35 days preceding the election.
